PETG Resin for Shrink Films, 3D Printing Filament, Sheet & Thermoforming
NPG Modified Thermoforming Sheet Extrusion Copolymer PETG Resin Polymer
PETG Chip (Resin) is a transparent, non-crystalline copolyester, full name Poly (ethylene terephthalate-co-1,4-cyclohexylenedimethylene terephthalate). Our PETG Chip is a modified amorphous polyester obtained by partially replacing ethylene glycol with NPG.
The production flow includes two key stages:
-
Esterification: PTA, MEG, and NPG undergo a high-temperature esterification reaction to form oligomers.
-
Polycondensation: The oligomers are then polycondensed to obtain modified polyethylene terephthalate Glycol (PETG).
Key Product Features
1. Excellent Shrinkage & Thermoforming Performance
Shrink films made from this resin achieve over 70% shrinkage, ideal for packaging containers with complex shapes. Hubei Decon’s PETG Resin can improve the roller speed by at least 10%.
Additional advantages:
-
High transparency
-
High gloss and low haze
-
Excellent printability
-
Low natural shrinkage during storage
-
Strong film stability without peeling issues
2. High Toughness
Sheets and plates produced from this resin are 15–20 times tougher than standard acrylic, offering superior impact resistance and durability.
3. Outstanding Weatherability
Both the resin and its finished products maintain long-term toughness, transparency, and physical-chemical stability under outdoor exposure, without embrittlement or degradation.
4. Easy to Process
PETG sheets can be processed through:
-
Sawing, die-cutting, drilling, punching, shearing, riveting
-
Edge milling and cold bending without cracking
-
Surface scratches can be removed using a hot-air gun
The resin is also suitable for solvent bonding, enabling efficient assembly.
Main Applications

Various rigid container labels
3. Bottles & Containers
PETG effectively improves the toughness of traditional polyester bottles, especially for large, thick-walled transparent containers.
Properties include:
-
High transparency, glass-like clarity
-
Excellent impact strength
-
Easy surface decoration
-
FDA compliance for food-contact applications
Its flexibility, gloss, chemical resistance, and ease of molding make PETG a preferred material for premium cosmetic and food packaging.
4. Sheets & Plates (1–25.4 mm)
Using conventional processing methods, PETG can be formed into transparent sheets and plates with:
-
-
Exceptional toughness
-
Impact strength 3–10 times higher than acrylic
-
Non-crystallizing behavior—no whitening during cold bending
-
Excellent printability and surface finishing
Applications include: -
Indoor & outdoor signage
-
Display racks and shelving
-
Vending machine panels
-
-
Furniture components
-
Architectural and mechanical protective panels
Its high compatibility with other materials also enables the production of composites, such as GAG and G-APET sheets.
