Project Description

Recently, we get an inquiry about Cationic Dyed Polyethylene Terephthalate (CD PET).
Their technical requirements are as below.
1. Active material content to be higher than 1.9% in mole ratio or more than 3.5% in a weight ratio
2. IV (intrinsic viscosity) to be min. 0.60-0.65 dl/g
3. Both semi-dull and bright options are needed

Based on these requirements, we recommend Easy Cationic Dyed Polyethylene Terephthalate. The reasons are as followed.
1 Active material in CDP chips refers to SIPM, which is the main functional monomer in the chip. Its dyeing property mainly depends on SIPM. The Chemical Name of SIPM is Dimethyl 5-sulfoisophthalate sodium salthydrate. Generally speaking, the content of SIPM is from 2.0% to 5.0% in weight radio Or from 1.3% to 3.3% in mole ratio.
2 For CDP chips, if IV is more than 0.6 dl/g, the Active material (SIPM) content is below 3.5% in weight ratio, that’s 2.4%. So regular CDP chips can not meet customers’ requirements.

Below is the specification for ECDP chips we customize for the customer.
Description:
ECDP chip is one modified and eco-friendly cationic polyester chip with high performance. It can be dyed at a temperature below 100℃ in an open dye vat and its dye-uptake rate can reach 98% or more. The yarn made from ECDP chips has excellent color fastness and beautiful luster. Also, it can be blended and interwoven with any synthetic fiber, man-made fiber, and natural yarn.
Application:
ECDP chips can be used for the spinning of POY (20d/36f-300d/288f), FDY (20d/36f-300d/288f) and short-staple fiber.
