Water Soluble Polyester Chip for Yarn Spinning, Warp Sizing, and Fabric Coating

Textile Grade Water-based Polyester chip as Textile Chemicals and Spinning Raw Material

Water-soluble polyester chip is entirely water-based polyester resin with high stability and can be 100% dissolved in water without alcohol or other solvents. This thermoplastic polymeric material is made from terephthalic acid (PTA) with mono ethylene glycol (MEG).

Application:

1. Yarn Spinning
Because of the excellent water solubility, many manufacturers use it to produce value-added specialty fibers, like microfiber, sea-island fibers, porous fibers, and highly hygroscopic fibers.
Water Soluble PET chips can be used for the production of Sea-island PSF and Filaments with composite spinning equipment.
Sea-island Filaments can produce clothing, sofa, home textiles, etc. Sea-island PSF is applied for the interior decorative material of luxury cars, like BMW.
If the plant is not equipped with a composite machine, the Water-Soluble PET chip can also act as the raw material for yarn spinning. Such yarn can manufacture hollow-carved fabrics.

Melting Point 246 246±1
Color Value b 3.7 M2 ± 1.5
Carboxyl End Groups (COOH) mol/t 5.8 10±5

Agglomerate Particle pce/mg 1.2 ≤3.0
Diethylene Glycol (DEG) % 2.8 3.0±0.5

2. Fabric Coating
It can be used for finishing fabrics to add the feel, stiffness, and good printing surface. And also we can formulate the recipe and make the water-proof polymer.

3. Dyeing Process
It can act as an antimigrant in thermosol dyeing. The antimigrant agent is usually used in blended fabric (polyester/cotton or polyester/viscose). For pure polyester fabric dyeing, only dispersing agent is needed.

WSP resin can also help the grey fabric to get a better color dispersion during the dyeing process.

4. Warp Yarn Sizing
Because of the similar structure to Terylene, WSP resin is mainly used for Warp Yarn Sizing.
It can completely replace modified starch, PVA, acrylics, or other binders during the sizing process of polyester filament, like pure polyester filaments(FDY, DTY)
And it can be used in combination with starch and wax for sizing polyester staple fiber, organic cotton yarn, polyester/cotton blend yarn, and polyester/viscose compact yarn. In this condition, it can replace PVA. The replacing ratio between PVA to resin is from 1:2 to 1:5.
Features:
Non-toxic and odorless, fully replacing PVA, Acrylics, CMC & other binders
Excellent adhesion performance, no hairiness problem
Strong coating film and high weaving efficiency, no yarn breakage
Easy desizing process
Eco-Friendly, no extra load for a water-treatment plant

Here is the process of making resin solution:
1 Add water in tank-start stirring
2 Heat the water-add resin gradually when temperature reach 80℃
3 Add some anti-foaming agent during mixing until no foam
4 Cook the resin for 1.5 hours at 95℃
5 Cool down the solution and stir 20-30 minutes under 50-60℃ until fully dissolved
6 Filter solution by 200-mesh filter net
7 Use it in the machine
Note:
1. About anti-static agents, you can add some according to the real situation.
2. Solid percentage in water: 13%-16% (based on the machine condition)
3. Pick-up percentage on yarn: depends on machine condition (6% dry pickup on solid bases)
4. The Water to Cook Solution:
We suggest De Mineral (DM) Water or Distilled Water or Reverse Osmosis (RO) water.
If water is good, 50% problem is eliminated in the cooking process. We strongly recommend the manufacturers to use the water we recommend above. Because the tape water has high TDS and is solid, which will make the resin undissolved. Harness in normal water is responsible for poor solubility. So soft water with a hardness of 10ppm is the best option. And the total TDS should not be higher than 50ppm.
